Today I was surprised to find one of my brooches included in a Klimt02 ‘Featured Selections’ series offering. For the world of contemporary jewelry, or art jewelry, Klimt02 is an online hub for artists, galleries and writers to share work, post opportunities and keep up with what’s happening, mainly in Europe, but also in other parts of the world.
Klimt02 has included my brooch, Cut Bend #5, in their list of the 25 Best Organic Artworks published in 2020. They have a few pertinent comments to make about the what the word organic might mean to a craft that is often very focussed on technical precision. They have also put me in some very good company, with objects made by artists such as Rita Soto, Bo Zhang, Kadri Mälk and Vered Kaminski.
